As a securities attorney for almost 20 years and a Certified Public Accountant for nearly 30 years, Pete has the legal and financial experience to comprehend the most complex securities law cases and their tax and accounting implications. Pete has broad experience interacting with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”).
Before becoming a founding partner at Carmel, Milazzo & DiChiara, Pete has been an attorney at the largest, most sophisticated, international law firms with experience working at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, where he represented investment banks and brokerage companies. His accounting experience was gained at Ernst & Young, one of the largest accounting firms in the world, where he represented a wide array of financial firms. Pete also served as the manager of financial reporting at Philip Morris Companies.
Pete is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he majored in Accounting, and received his Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law.
In addition to his legal and financial work over the last 30 years, Pete was a Trustee and the Deputy Mayor of the village of Mount Kisco, New York for a ten-year period. He is also one of the founding members of the Foundation for Empowering Citizens with Autism.
